About the Owner

Lindsey's family still talks about her sneaking kittens into the house in her Muppets lunchbox. When asked what she was doing, she quickly replied "nothing!" and scrambled up the stairs, gingerly cradling her precious cargo. From a very early age, Lindsey took care of animals. For the past 16 years, she has worked with various organizations, such as Feral Cat Rescue, Lions Tigers and Bears and the Chula Vista city Animal Shelter. Her cats, Loki and Daisy, are rescued pets, and so is Zippy, her dog companion. Ten years ago, she began her dog grooming training under Kaoru Nakajima, who helped her love of dogs blossom and transform into a love of making dogs look their best. Since then, she has become one of the top groomers in downtown San Diego, grooming dogs that have appeared in San Diego Magazine, being listed #1 on the "A-List" of top groomers in San Diego, and competing in the National Grooming Competition in Las Vegas (2009, 2010). In October 2009, she began a remodel project in her new location on 9th and E. Lindsey is excited about bringing back current clients and welcoming new clients and their doggy companions to Spawtlight Dog Salon and Spa.
